how is timing effected?
yo fellas,
a friend of mine, who is on the board, but is too much of a pansy to make his own thread, has a question. How does a aftermarked headgasket effect ignition timing? retard? advance? no difference? just tryin to get his motor runnin like it should, the previous owner installed a mugen headgasket. thanks guys
edit: what about cam timing?

Check the ignition timing with a timing light. In my opinion, a mugen head gasket (we are talking fraction of a mm difference) is not going to affect ignition timing all that much.
It doesn't affect ignition timing.. it affects your cam timing. For every 0.010" you reduce in the block to head distance, you need to advance the cams by 1degree to compensate.
But since the intake cam directly affects the ignition timing, the same applies
for ignition timing, UNLESS you move the intake cam to compensate instead.
