Default Rear Disk Brake question 00 EX

Ok, I just purchased a full rear disk set from a 00 civic Si. It has the ebrake cables as well. My question is, will I have to purchase a new master cylinder or proportioning valve? I already plan on purchasing new steel braided brake lines, will I need to get fronts for an EX and rears for an Si, or just get a full set of Si lines?

Thanks for the help

Your EX front brakes are the same as the Si, so when you put on the rear disks, you'll basically have "Si" brakes. In order to stay "Si", I would recommend an Si 7/8" master cylinder and prop valve. For the brakes line, buy the set for an Si.

The proportioning valve is really up to you. You don't need a new master cylinder and brake booster but it will do a whole hell of a lot to your braking power. That is, if you get a bigger MC/BB combo. I have a 1" and I love it. As for the lines, you can get the a set for an Si, you share the same chassis as the Si and the lines will fit.

Aweomse to know. Thanks for the quick replies.

How big is the master cylinder and prop valve for the EX, and how much of a difference in performance for the money are we talking here?

Thanks again for the help.

Not sure 13/16"? It's stamped on the left side of the MC. Well, for the money I'd say it's worth it. I believe 98-01 Integra 1" MCs bolt up to your BB.

So it would probably be safe to assume that the coupe is also the same considering the only other difference with the brakes seems to be the rears being drums.
