Default vtec is messed up!!! ****!

My 2003 type S isnt hitting vtec all the time now. in first gear then second then third just revs normally and never hits vtec at all at 6000 rpm on.
Is this normal?

wtf are you saying? at first gear u don't hit vtec? is the car warmed up? does it still go pass 6k rpm?

Engine oil level will make a difference, because the vtec mechanism uses engine oil to operate.

expletive ok i go past 6000 but it never hits vtec. everything is fine oil is good, car is warm .... what the hellim reving all the way to 7900 but it doesent hit vtec anymore.

I had this same problem on my 97 lude and it turned out to be the vtec sylenoid going out - but I'm not 100% sure if that's whats going on with your car... Good luck though

wow...all this wrong information. why can't you people be more helpful?

to the op: simple problem, happens all the time....all you need to do is refil your vtec fluid! just pick some up from autozone and you'll be set

same thing happened with my k20 hatch....turns out it was something in the oil pan...did u hit a bump and bend the oil pan or something...try taking it off and cleaning it out...over 10 shops couldnt find out what was wrong with mine then i smashed the oilpan n changed it now vtecccccccc all day lol....for me it was like 2nd would work then u shift n no vtec but it still goes all the way up to 8,000 rpms...only when u shift it didnt work...give it a try
