well there was 2 different readings on the guage. so the other would be around 178 or 175 all the way across. i rechecked them. so does this mean the motor is good.

as long as the numbers are within about 10-20 psi of eachother there within factory specs.. 178 should be fine

why exactly do you think your motor is bad should be the question

If it is 178 across the board, you have a decently healthy motor. Like it was said you dont want to have more than 20 psi of difference between cylinders. That tells you something is going bad(most likely rings) and you should fix that as soon as you can. I hate to ask, but did you convert the car to MPFI and do you have the proper ecu for the engine?

Was this a 'wet' compression test, ie did you put a little oil in the cylinder before each reading?

Check you valves for carbon build-up. They vary from 158 to 174. This is not out of the 20 psi range but the pressure builds from 1 to 4.

no it was not a wet compression test. and yes i did ther mpfi wiring myself. and yes i have the right ecu. its a pr3. and i got the wiring correct i think because it is spitting fuel out of the injector and sparking perfectly fine.. im guessing it the tps sensor or the vtec wiring. i havent donr that yet. or the knock sensor, 2nd o2 sensor, vtec ground so this could be it right? it is doing the same thing my friends b16 swapped hf was doing all the shop did to it was adjust the tps sensor and plug the spark wires in the right order.

No knock sensor or TPS and you are wondering why it won't start?

well i connected the knok sensor as well as all wires for vtec and still nothing. i heard there is a extra ground you have to put to your ecu when doing this swap. does anyone know which ecu pin its at. is thet why it doesent work?

Never heard of that before. Does the engine crank over? Does it catch then die? What engine codes are you throwing?

last time i checked there were no codes but i will check again. but it cranks and it seems as if it sparks some cylinders and then dies out then starts over again. so its just cranking aBOUT 3 TIMES OVER THEN IF ACTUALLY SEEMS LIKE ITS TRYING THEN BACK. I DONT KNOW WHATS UP.
