Default turbo dumptube relocation suggestion.

i'm running about 5lbs or less of boost on a t3/t4 in a sohc vtec. my downpipe looks like this.

the red is where my dumptube is pointing at right now. its about half an inch from touching the downpipe and is blowing exaust gas out constant, and is loud even when at idle. is the noise at idle normal for an open tube??
the green is where i was planning to connect the tube into but not sure if it will be efficent. i don't mine losing a few hp i just don't want any back pressure or anything to cause my turbo to go bad due to bad location. also i can't leave it open because cops are very strict about these things around my area and i also dont like the loud noise. so what do you guys think is the best relocation. thanks.

note: if pic dont work tell me.

i think that would be a good location (red). but the cut may be difficult. that way the gases are going with the flow of the downpipe and not entering in perpendicular. or just dump it to the atmosphere (no tie in) . just a thought

oh thanks. i can't dump it into the atmosphere because its too loud and cops will pull me over instantly. california is very strict. so retarded. but thanks for your input.

anybody else before i start cutting?

put it at the lower connection point, but make sure it's at an angle tie in so it will dumb WITH the flow and not cause turblance when it is letting gasses by.

i just finish putting mine in today. but the idle noise is still loud. what else could cause this? i can feel a leak from where it was welded. my friend and i weld it outselves. its a small leak though. you can feel a bit of air coming out from it, not much. could this little air still cause the motor to be very loud? oh also my downpipe is 3" and my exaust pipe is stock 2.25". maybe this is a concern also. thanks.

there should be nothing coming out of the wastegate dump tube at idle. is it adjusted correctly? the diaphragm might be torn.

is the dumptube connected to the downpipe at an angle in that pic with the spooling setup? Or is it just connected and welded on at a certain degree? Would that cause back pressure?
