Default EM2 offset

I'm gonna be getting some wheels on a 205/40-17 tyre.
I know the offset for an EM2 is et45, but a wheel im looking at comes in et40 only.
Its not a lot of difference, but would i be ok with an et40?

Anybody run et40's?

(I did use the search function for this but turned up nothing for "EM2 offset" or "offset EM2" etc)

Thanks guys

(these are the wheels http://www.rochfordtyres.co.uk...ID=94)

What do you all think? Reckon they'll suit an SSM EM2? I think they'll look awesome.

Your opinions?

You'll be fine with +40et offset and 205 tires, and I'd actually go with 215's, but that's me.

The general basis for offset's on an EM2 are: +37 - +45 but, it will depend on how large the wheel is, and the size tire you run.

finally!

cheers matt.

The reason im going for a 205/40-17 is simply for extra room to dump my beloved on its coilovered **** (eventually), create a tiny bit more clearance for lock-to-lock and limit arch scrape when i'm caning it.

Also, the Falken tyres i always use have a small footprint and aggressive shoulder angle for that vital couple of extra millimetres.

Sounds like nonsense but in the past ive gone from the Falken ZE512s that i now tend to stick to, to other brands (of an identical size) and gone from NO scrubbing with the 512s to quite obvious scrubbing with the others. (which were Toyos and goodyears btw)
I know the ZE512 aren't the best tyre in the world but then i'm not a racing driver and they do me just fine.

lol

i prefer the slimmer look of a 205 myself.

i loved the bone jarring ride and body control of my previous EM1 with 205s and rock hard coilovers.

I like the look of 225's with rolled fenders, but that's me.

I'll be asking a friend at a body shop nearby to see if he can't pull the fenders about 1/2 - 3/4" out, so I can fit 235's.

Not when I'm going from 24.5lb rims to 16lb. rims.

Got anything positive to say?

I already purchased them, to be honest.

Vintage SSR Reverse Mesh's (16x7.5, +34et) (**extremely rare in 4x100**)

They'll be here (being shipped from Japan) near the end of July.

Thanks, bud. Yeah, I've been interested in vintage JDM rims for a long time, because they're unique. So, I searched forever to find some that fit my car.
