but you will loose CR then if you would use a grs block and head together . unless you use different pistons or a thin head gasket

yes it does bolt on....basically what you are creating is a poorman's ITR setup.
since ITR/CCTR uses a B16A its no brainer, but by using the the orignal piston the c/r will drop by about .2 to 9.8 which is rather low for dohc vtec motor....time either to go with ITR pistons or if you dare CTR ...all will work well

btw b16a head flows much better then the GSR its a good combination

Probably would be a good way to go for a forced induction application, though?

Eh, it's a little better. But the pistons are still subject to detonation.
Cast pistons won't hold as well as a forged.

So, you get a little protection, but not much.

b16a head + usdm gsr block + usdm gsr pistons = 10.0 CR
b16a head + usdm gsr block + usdm itr pistons = 10.8 CR

10.5 actually. 10.8 is with a GSR head.

Everything will work out alright. If you want to cheaply drop the compression a little more, just get some Integra LS pistons. They'll give you something around 9.3:1 compression.

b16a head + usdm gsr block + usdm gsr pistons = 10.0 CR
they are 9.8:1 not 10.0:1 (Stock USDM GSR motor is 10.0:1)

Also, with USDM ITR pistons its 10.6:1 (same as USDM ITR motor)

even better is using the B16a PR3 piston (USDM Si) at 11.0:1

check it here:

if you are planning to boost then that should be perfect , maybe even 8lbs.but dont get to crazy with it

isnt 11.0+ CR a little too high for pumping 91 octane?

No way!
11cr to even 12.1cr is perfect for daily driving on 91 octane.

..yesh it will, just make sure you use B18C head studs and not B16A head studs (they're shorter).
