the NOS stuff does about .6, as in 91 to 91.6, thats why they say 3 point or 6 point or whatever

Toluene is 114 octane or so and xylene is 117 octane.

with xylene and 93 octane i calculate 96-98 octane depending on the solution.

Are there any issues with Xylene? I remember reading that tolulene was better however I don't remember why. Can anybody chime in?

Tolulene shouldn't exceed 20% volume in your tank. You can buy it at Sherwin Williams.

toluene should not exceed 30% actually. and at a 30% mixture youll be at about 98 octane when starting with 91. also toluene is about 6-7 dollars a gallon so its not like youll be saving any money by doing this. try vista paint also cause they carry it. sherwin williams is ok if the employees there know how to tie their shoe laces, which is a rare find in my opinion.

i buy xylene at lowes, home depot or whoever has it cheapest. sometime even walmart.
both toluene and xylene are "dry" in that they do not provide lubrication for injectors and fuel pumps, so i will not go over 20% in a straight mix with fuel, though i ahve done 25% with the addition of injector treatments or soemthing else to provide some lubrication

nos octane booster adds 60 points as in 6 full octane numbers, it treats up to 17 gallons i always put it in 10 gallons, every i would say twice a week...so what about that toluene?...is it safe to put it every week?

that is not possible that it adds that much, that would mean it is way beyond 150 octane.

Sure, just don't exceed the 20 or 30% volume.

think about it REAL hard.

if people could just buy nos octane booster to get octane up to race fuel, why would people buy race fuel?

i read about guys making octane booster with a mixture of xylene, rubbing alcohol, mineral spirits, and ATF.

the xylene and alcohol to boost the octane rating, the mineral spirits to clean out your injectors and the ATF to lubricate your lines so the alcohol doesnt dry it out.

id google this before i honda-tech'd it.
