ok soo my problem (if you can even call it a problem) is that i installed headers, a test pipe, and exhaust on my eg and i havent felt a power loss or anything, but between 2500 and 3500 rpms it makes this annoying twangy noice as i accelerate. if i accelerate really slow it doesnt do it. before 2500 is nice and deep (greddy) and above 3500 is great too. so what is this i'm hearing???

yea i've thought about that too, but came to the conclusion that it would prolly only get louder as the rpms went up

twangy... like %$)*(&ed up haha. i've gotten used to it but still... i dont get it its all quality parts... greddy header, omnipower test pipe, greddy sp2 exhaust.
i guess by twangy i mean ricey and ugly?

oh. haha. probably the test pipe making the sound difference cause its soo dang loud.....right? i have the sp2 as well on my eg6. i have a test pipe, but its not on the car. i took it off. so i dont know.
I had the same problem as well. Mine was the heatsheild on the cat. It only made a raspy sound around 2500 rpms. I think the honda tech told me that the motor has a certain harmonic and at a certain rpm the motor vibrates. I thought I was in physics class or something. I just took off the heatsheild. So you are positive that the noise is comming from the bottom? Maybe the exhaust itself is vibrating onto something.
heat sheild could also be the problem i guess. but eghatch33 says it sounds ricey and ugly. not all raspy and stuff. so i dont think its the heat sheild for eghatch33

If you dont have a test pipe you wont get as much back pressure, back pressuse makes it louder, and or deeper
. Just a thought.

Well i have an EG sedan with a catback exhaust and a resonator and my cat went bad so we are switching it with a test pipe. I dont have headers yet but i'll let you know if i hear any strange noises between those RPM's
my cat clogged and i ran a test pipe to get more flow. i noticed that my low end didnt pick up as much and my exhaust went to quiet and smooth, to raspy. I bought a new cat and bolted it up andnow my car picks up better on the freeway, its quieter, and i can pass smog when i need to
