Default recommendation for co's

ey fellas,
picked up an 01 ex couple weeks ago, bought it to get away from the aftermarket, but it seems to have caught up w/ me again.
have a 97 a4 back at home, so i'm new to the honda scene.
looking into a set of co's, but i'd like to know what manufacturers i should stay away from and which i should favor.
i'd like an easily adjustable dampening feature, if that's available, but whatever you guys can recommend, i'd appreciate it.
also any sites that are more reliable than others..

thanks again.

You've got plenty of options, since the DC5 uses the same or similar coilover kits. Tein, Tanabe, HKS, K-Sport, Function&Form, and many more...

i'm going for KW's. You can get variant 1 (height adj only) or variant 2 (height and bump/rebound adj). The units are also stainless steel so are less likely to corrode over time like my previous SPAX items.

check out the salt test on http://www.k300performance.co....t.htm

Ive heard some good stuff about the Tokico D-Spec adjustable setup. Comes with adjustable shocks and coil springs.

Expensive though. Im going to try and save up and get me some for my EM.

I like that salt test, uk. I'd like to see how some other companies, like the ones I mentioned, would fair under the extreme salty conditions.

It is rather good isn't it. Thats what finally swayed me to the KW's.
A products longevity and ability to deal with corrosion has been top uf my agenda since my old coilovers' threads siezed up and the actual rebound adjustment **** disintegrated and fell to peices! Not to mention the polised lip on my previous wheels' rapid decline. Its stainless lips and coilovers all the way for me now.

It would be great if, like you say, somebody independently tested something from every popular brand.

Tein's products are usually top notch. You only have to worry about the knock-off's that seem to be popping up everywhere.
