Weird pinging noise?

4dr with z6 head, freshly adjusted valves. the problem is when i shift into a high gear to cruise or at low rpm when i try to accelerate this weird pinging noise happens. and it continues until about 3k rpms. any ideas what it might be?

what block are you using? depending on what block you used for the mini me, the compression might be high and you are pinging. try pumping in 91 octane and retard the timing

You are definately detonating. Retard your ignition timing.
