Default My Turbo Thread

Hey, well im 99% sure i woud like to turbo my prelude. Its a 4th gen with a recently swapped JDM h22a. I just have I/h/e/clutch/flywheel/ right now but I've decided on a decent turbo setup that should maintain reliablility and make enough power to get me in the 13's in the 1/4.... I ran 14.48 at 100mph w/ the current setup (shitty nito450s) but im wondering how i could get 250+ whp to the ground... I will def need slicks!!!!

I just purchased an lsd motorsports manifold (log w/ 38 mm external elbow) on ebay and i also have some intercooler piping. In addition i have a socketed P28 which i will be running crome/uberdata (wideband tuning),

I plan on running DSM 450s, Walbro Fuel pump, 3" dp/ with 3" full exhaust, colder step spark plugs, retarded timing. I plan to get a tial wastegate, but ive also heard that the knock off's aren't bad at all these days.. so i might take a chance. In addition, i was wondering how bad a knock off blow off valve and knock off intercooler would be? They seem pretty hard to mess up, so i'm not sure...I am no means a cheapskate, but money is consierably limited so i would rather purchase a better turbo and worse intercooler, than smaller/less efficient turbo andn decent intercooler.

For a turbo, it must be t3 flanged, but im deciding what trim to get. Ive seen people running sc61 or 63 trimmed turbos making INCREDIBLE amounts of power..... But a 57 trim would be **** too right? If someone can provide me with some guidance (or ill call precision, cuz he knows his ****) i'd appreciate it...

Also, jw an estimated hp i could expect? im hoping between 260-300whp? is that realistic?

IMO don't cheap out on the wastegate...it's too important to gamble with a knock-off. Intercooler, BOV, piping, etc is not as big of a deal...

Man sounds good, very similar to my set up with good quality part and a good tune 300hp should be easy, I would suggets a little bigger injectors for some room for error/improvement. just keep us posted and Tial FTW.

I hope you know what youtr getting youself into j/k

I just finished buying all my parts and just saving up to get tuned, If I could do it all over again I would have tried to buy as much as possible locally, getting scammed sucks and dealing with people though e-mail and, recieving wrong parts, sending them back, waiting on money return, really gets aggrevating.

The last thing you want at wide-open throttle with boost is a fuel system problem... if you have the cash, I'd buy the fuel injectors and the fuel pump brand new.
