If you bought a stock 93 si hb It has vtec. He may have replaced the engine with a non-vtec engine. Got a pic?

Okay:

Check the engine code, it's on the block on the lower passenger side of the block. Near the tranny housing. Does it read:

D16Z6

If so, then it's the stock motor and it DOES have VTEC regardless if the valvecover says so or not.

1992-1993 VTEC Civics DON'T say "VTEC" on the motor, but they are. 1994-1995 Civics say "VTEC" on the valvecover, but it's still the same motor as the 1992-1993.

From 1996-up all the SOHC VTEC Civics still did NOT say "VTEC" on the motor, but they indeed are VTEC.

What's the block code?
