Dumb questions about timing!
Do you really need a timing gun? I searched and read a couple posts that basically say " just adjust the dizzy in the middle and make sure it doesn't ping or bog." Please correct me if I'm wrong. And does anyone have a DIY for timing WITH PICS? I searched and searched!
you probably can BUT if ya realy wanna know what the motors set at just spend alittle extra cheese and get a timing light. ive bought several at garage sales preaty cheap some brand new and nice ones as well.
i wouldnt do it by eye/ear...... or just find a friend that has one and borrow it for 10min time it in his driveway and hand the tool back.LOL then you know its right!

bump for DIY on timing belt, links anyone? Not that link with the del sol DIY timing belt/water pump, i've seen that and its a little confusing due to no picture labeling IMHO.
IMO its not safe. A cheap Timing gun only costs like $20 anyway
But if you have not touched anything yet and its still timed right, make a perfect straight line across the dizzy with a pen/thin marker. Then when you put the dizzy back on just match the lines perfectly.
