smoke from head

Default smoke from head

I have put about 50 miles on my rebuilt motor and ive noticed that each time i get back to my house there is a little smoke coming out of the breather on the back of the head. is this normal?

sounds like you have blow by...your rings must be going bad

Its smoking a LITTLE from the breather on the valve cover.. I just replaced the rings 50 miles ago.

Maybe it did not seat right. Take a pic and show were for sure it is coming out of. That would be more helpfull.

the breather from the head. Its normaly a tube that goes to your stock intake, but i have a dumb little filter on it. Its pretty obvious that its blow-by to me. Is this normal for a motor with new rings to do this? could it mean they just havent seated properly yet???

did you stagger the ring gaps?

Like one at 12 o clock, 6 o clock, 3 o clock, etc

k ive put about 90 miles on the motor now and the smoke stopped so looks like it took care of itself.
