Front Disc Replacement
Hello all.
I'm trying to replace the front discs on my 98 Ex. I've gotten the two retaining screws off and am now just trying to remove the discs themselves. In helms it says to thread two bolts into the remaining two holes on the disc to push it away from the hub. Helms says to use 8 x 1.25mm bolts which is the same size as it says the brake line mounting bolts are. I've tried threading the brake line mounting bolts in but they are not catching at all.
My question is: are the bolts not threading because helms is wrong about the size of one of these bolts, or because my discs are rusted so bad (they are very rusted, thus the reason for replacement, gotta love the North East). I guess if someone could tell me the size of the bolts used to push the rotor away then that would give me an answer. Or, if someone could confirm that they've used the brake line mounting bolts to push the rotor away then that would also give me an answer.
One more question. Since I'm replacing the disc, can i just bang it with a hammer to get it off?
Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for any help.

It turns out that the brake line mounting bolt is a 6x1.25 bolt. I bought two 8x1.25 bolts and they popped the rotor right off.
Awesome first post by me:
"how do I thread a 6mm bolt into an 8mm thread?"
Thanks for the help!!
