Default no start problem

sawp a d16z6 into my 91 civic hatch. Motor cranks but won't start.
I hear, smell and see fuel. How would I check for spark?
the ecu works, but the motor has been sitting for about a year or so.
i'm hella stumped.

The guy who had the car before me messed around with the wire harness and made it hard for me.

Have someone else attempt to start the car. Take a spark plug wire out and place it near the support for the frontend and when they crank the car and you see a blue spark that means you are getting spark, if not check your dizzy.
