My engine is throwing A knock sensor code and I can't figure it out.
What causes knock what should I check or replace????
I have already checked the plugs and replaced the plug wires. got new gas. checked all wiring and what not. what next!
BTW it's a B16a

 

Did you just swap in the B16a? and did you run a wire for the knock sensor?
(its the single prong sensor on the back of the block, just above and left of the oil filter).

 

only thing right off the top of my head would be that you should only put in 91 octane or higher if its a b16, and maybe check your timing.

the engine has been in my car and running smooth for 6 months
I only run premuim in my car but I think its the gas
knock can only be caused by 4 things
1.bad gas
2.an inoperative EGR valve (code 12)
3.buildup of carbon in the combustion chamber
4.over advanced timing
