Well im going to purchase a carbon fiber vented hood, but the only problem is that on some parts, the clear coat is gone. How woudl you clean up the clear coat and reclear it again? Whats an estimate of the price if I would have to pay to get it recleared at the paint shop?

i woulda got an oem cf hood, but i suppose u can take it to a local paint and body shop and ask for an estimate. Im pretty sure you can also buy clearcoat in a spray can

yeah you could take it to a shop. and yes you can buy clear coat in a spray can, but just remember, you get what you pay for.

 

geez... I was using clear coat from a spray can, it didnt turn out quite well.

i paid $100.00 at my homeboys cousins shop about 2 years ago. it is an og fiber images cf oem hood from 1998. the fit is great just need to be recleared. i am really happy how it came out. was also able to keep the " fiber image" writing in the hood.

 

You probably got hooked up with that $100 ....how much would it be at the shops? $150? $200?
