ls integra hard to time ignition
my gf's integra has a stock ls motor. i notice when the car comes to a stop the rpm would drop to near dying area. so i went and check the timing. what i notice is 1, its hard to see the red dot to line it up with the arrow and 2, it wont stay still, i would see a sec. of it than it'll jump. like i mean it would jump up an down all the time and that made timing the car impossible for me. i believe its running ngk stock spark plugs but gsr spark plug wires. i search and see people say it'll work but the gsr wires in ls motor will have a gap at the top, but nobody provide me with information on would it perform the same. so what could be causing this timing mark to go up and down so much? thanks.

sounds about right

well at a dead stop idling the rpm stays at 650. when driving it feels fine. when coming to a stop the rpm will drop to dying stage and goes back up. same thing happens when i turn on ac or lights, but it will always fix itself and go back up. the thing is the timing mark is jumping so much i can't time it.
my car does the same ****.... the electrical system's pretty weak in these cars, but lemme know if you're able to fix it
btw, i've timed my car a couple times, not too hard, though i have the same rpm drop you do whenever i turn something on..

The electrical systems pretty weak in these cars??? The electrical systems in our tegs can support a 500 whp turbo, how is that weak?
Yes, as time goes by, and our cars age year after year, electrical components do fail, but weak, hardly.

If the car idles low, why did you go with ignition first?
everything hooked up right on the intake manifold?
and why don't you just try turning up the idle a little on the cable?

my idle is now low. its normal. just goes down at a stop. and i can't just turn up my idle, the time wont be correct. thats why i'm trying to time it but can't cuz the mark jumps too much.
