Default LS bogging down...

Where to start... right now my LS is having issues, whenever I drive off the car wants to fight (bogging) revving up until about 4K and then after 4K it feels back to normal a pulls all the up to the red line. Anything below 4K and it just feels jumpy and alot of power loss. I'm sure how more descriptive to be. I've checked my timing, switched plug wires and plugs (switched back to OEM) and also I have no CEL. My mods are I/H/E. Thanks...

Sounds like timing is retarded......perhaps the timing belt jumped? What have you done to the car lately?

checked the timing today and found that is was retarded by six degrees. Took care of that and the problem is still there... As far as mods... nothing with in the last 3 months. But maintance wise, I've replaced the thermostat and cam seal (exhaust side) and I had the speed sensor go out, but fixed that as well. The problem has gotten really bad in the last 3 days... would a EGR valve issue cause this or IACV + dirty TB?

I'll try cleaning out my IACV and the TB, what I'm feeling from the car is something similar to a misfiring jerk and go... anymore inputs?

Change your sparkplugs, I would be willing to bet they are bad. What kind do you have? Changed them lately?

I put some Bosh Platinums in mine and they crapped out 2 months later. I replaced a ton of stuff trying to find the problem, not thinking that they would have gone bad that fast. Mechanic friend of mine said he has pulled them out of countless acuras, esp integras. I actually called the dealership and they told me the same thing. If thats not it it may be a timing issue, but thats exactly what my car was doing.

well the plugs are only at the most 4 weeks old... and even went back to OEM plugs (NGK) and wires... I can try to switch them out again and see what happens... could it be a fuel pump problem or injectors?

try unplugging the intake air temp sensor, its on the intake runner closest to the drivers side, real easy to get to, see if it stops bogging.

tegG2:
The fuel filter is alittle over a year.

blkb18:
I'll try unplugging the ATS and let you know how that goes.

teggy182:
I've changed cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires.

Also whenever I stomp on the gas, but pick right up, but if I just gas it to drive, it starts acting up, until I stomp on the gas or get to 4K rpms...

Sounds like the exact problem I had, but new plufs fixed me right up. Try pulling the plugs and seeing what they look like. I would sounds more like an electrical issue than a fuel. Only things I can think of is Timing, injectors, and fuel pump, if you know anyone with an integra try swaping them before you go out and buy a brand new one.

unplugging the ATS seem to have it ride alittle better, so I'm going to see how it is on the way home from work.

Lauj87:
The O2 sensor is my next test.

SiR Adam:
I'll try those if the above fail to fix the problem.

Thanks for all the help guys... I'll let you know what happens...

with the ATS disconnected it rode better, but the hesitation was still there on and off. I'm going to check on my sensors for any corrosion, since I found some on my VSS.

You're right on the money. It was the O2 sensor on the header. The connection harness has a loose connection. Thanks for the help everyone.
