Default CEL Code 1 Oxygen Content formerly code 45 too rich - bad cat or o2?

This is for my 2001 gsr. Wiseco pistons at stock compression. I had a K&N filter with Header/Cat/Exhaust for awhile now and i believe i was running rich

For awhile i was on a regular basis getting code 45: too rich or too lean. So I reinstalled the stock exhaust manifold.

Now I keep getting CEL Code 1 Oxygen Content. Like every 10-20 miles

Sometimes i can smell gas when the car is idling. Sometimes i smell eggs kinda (like from the cat)

Whats causing this? My cat? My o2 sensor? Which o2, the primary or secondary? (OBD2b)

Also, a couple times i tried to pull the code, the CEL didn't flash at all. It just stayed on when it was supposed to be flashing and telling me what # the code is. whats up with that?

Please help me out. Any info appreciated. Thanks...
