I am currently rebuiding my OBD1 B18B1 Engine with a P30 head, to OBD2 emissions. My car is a 1996 GSR so it has to have OBD2 Standards. Some idiot changed it to OBD1. Also, can I put a 1996 Oil pump on a 1994-1995 block?
p30 is a usdm b16 del sol engine.
and you said it OBD2 emissions has nothing to do with your build up.
except for the crank possition sensor located at the crank itself.
OBD1 sensor located in the distributor.
and yes you could put the oil pump on your block.

Well where do I put the crank sensor? I thought it goes on the oil pump? So I have a B18B1 with a Del sol Head? Will a obd2 engine harness work with it? You seem knowledgable about these things so tell, why wont my wipers stop wiping?
A 96+ oil pump will bolt onto your b18b1 but if you are using a obd I ecu, there is no point in doing so because your ecu does not look for that signal.

I am going to use a P75 A52 ECU. I have the Engine harness, and conversion harness to the ECU from OBD1 to OBD2A. Is there anything else you think I will need?

The thing is I have to have a OBD2 Diagnostic check. If I change the ECU shouldnt I have a crank sensor? I am running a P72 A01 now (1995 GSR ECU) but the Check Engine light is on.
