oil leak at distributer....?????

Default oil leak at distributer....?????

ok where the distributer connects/bolts onto the block/head.... oil is slowly leaking from there... when i took the distributer off there is no gasket... so is there supposed to be one and how whould i fix something like this.??

More than likely its the black o-ring on the distributer. Thats what seals the oil in this area.

also check to see if it is the dizzy. sometimes the valve cover gasket may leak near there.

if theres no black rubber o ring on the distibutor arm, theres suppose to be one.

nah theres a black o ring.... and no this engine isnt vtec.... its the sohc 1.5 d16 i believe. The S model.

might just need to replace the o ring. or the distributor could have been warped if its been on an engine that was overheated.

ok well when i talked to like auto zone (parts store) they said i have to bring the old one in and they would have to match it up... the only other way i can get one thats like made for that is through honda correct?

any parts store should have the o ring. but if not, call honda. they for sure can get it.

well yea every store has to "match it up with the old one" and yet i dont have to old one and honda store is closed sunday and monday (memorial day) and i dont wanna wait till tuesday.

ok the oring on the dizzy was like a flat plastic thingie.... went to the local parts store and they gave me like this rubber circular one. They said it would work.... but im kinda sceptical... hmm we will see.

the original WAS a black round o-ring, over time it hardened and became flat. thats how mine was when i replaced it a few days ago. i had a slow leak as well. i got the OEM honda replacement for 2 bucks from the dealer
