its what i have now making about 210-220hp and about 200 ft lbs. and it has never slipped any at all. but i will be building a new d16 engine and be running about 350hp and was wondering if this clutch will hold it fine or should i get a new one while i have it all out.

the ACT xtss has a rating of 319ft/lbs, so if you need more clamping force, then go for this clutch. It has the same smooth engagement of the hdss, so it's perfect it you don't like the engagement of the 6puck, or 4puck

whats the difference between the hdss and xtss. is it just the pressure plate? can you buy just the pressure plate? this hdss clutch i have in there now is pretty new.

yea pressure plate is different. disc is still the SS but the XT extremee plate. should have some more pedal pressure, but engagement will be smoother because of the organic disk

yeah i had the xtss in my old civic and it engaged pretty smooth. Pedal pressure was hard as hell though. My left leg looks like the incredible hulk!!!

I've seen just the plate as well as disc by itself online, $100 or so for a disc, $280+ I think for the plate. I wouldn't really recommend mixing a new plate with a used disc, and I bet you could find someone to buy an XTSS and swap your HDSS.

On a side note, I loved the HDSS in a stock LS. It actually felt like there was a clutch, unlike the 'flapping pedal' feel you get with a stock PP.

Numbers in sig. Holds up pretty well to the abuse without any slipping at all. I like the softer pedal because I contend with stop and go traffic to and from work and it would just be overkill to go with a stiffer one since my engine setup won't change any time soon.

I had the HDSS in a stock LS with a GSR tranny, and it was great. Had to switch to a full face after the turbo was in, it was a horrible setup for boost.
