Default H23 External Distributor Work with H22A?

hi, i need a quick answer...

does the H23 EXTERNAL distributor work with a H22A with an INTERNAL distributor?

everything bolts on and plugs in fine. but im not getting any spark.

running the H23 harness with no wiring modifications.

It should work. Just remove and replace. You are still using the H23a coil, right?

right now i have switched it back to the H22A internal coil....and spliced the yellow and black/yellow wires together....

but im still getting no spark from there...

what could be the problem?

Wait, so are you using an H22a distributor? Or are you using the H23a1 distributor?

And what chassis is this in? 4th Gen Prelude? 5th Gen Civic? The H23a1 distributor should plug in the OBDI harness.

chasis = prelude 92 SI....

thats what i thought that it should plug in directly....and function...but there was still no spark

I did what you are asking about. Yes, the H23 distributor bolts right on. It is a direct plug and play.

H22A1 and H23 distributoors are the same, and the USDM Prelude is wired to work with the external coil distributor. Making the H22A distributor to work requires some modification.

Assuming everything is bolted in correctly, check your distributor for a blown ignitor.

But why did you splice the yellow and yellow/black wires together again? This is at the distributor plugs, correct?
