B20B Flywheel bolts
I'm working on a JDM B20 I'm rebuilding for my brother, which came as a long block sans flywheel. In trying to remove the crank pulley, I figured I'd just bolt a bar to the other end of the crank and work on the bolt with a breaker bar like I usually do. Only one problem....the flywheel bolts for a B20 (12x1mm 12pt, HOP# 90011-PH3-000, same for all B series motors) don't fit. Turns out someone boned the crank before I got it. Of the 8 holes, I can get a bolt to thread cleanly into ONE of them. The rest...it's bad.
I figure I have 2 options...replace the crank ($$$) or try and run a cleaning tap through the holes and pray that there is enough thread down in the crank to provide the holding torque required.
Thoughts?
