Default Over reved???

b18c5 on Hatchie
Floored it on the 1st gear, and I think I shifted to late because before right as I shifted into 2nd I heared bang. It scared me at first but the engine continued to work normaly, no signs of anything being wrong. There was oil smell but i did not think it was my car.

So today before I get into my car ( Did not drive the car for a week ) and before I starrted I check oil and oh oh?? Bone Dry, F@CK! I go to gas station and put 3 quarts to get it to normal level ( OH NO!! ) What I found is that I am dripping oil left and right when engine is on. From what i could see it was leaking from above the oil pan in the back of the engine, right next to the axle on the drivers side. I could not see any leak from the head gasket. To my ear the engine is runing as it did before, no sounds that would raise my suspicion. I could of overlooked ( Did not check ) if it is leaking belowe the intake manifold.

Thanks for input

Pull the engine.. if the leak is as serious as it sounds you shouldn't be driving it.

put the car up on jack stands and turn it on, get under the car and find exactly where the oil is leaking from.

then report back to us..

I don't think reving a b18c5 to 9k is gonna cause any damage. The stock redline is 8500 or 8600 rpm.
