Default VTEC will only engage with VAFC 2

SO i just swapped my GSR in I put the VAFC 2 on but have taken it off recently because it was bogging out the car and I dont have the money to get it tuned yet. Since I have taken it off my VTEC will not engage it would enage before but nothing would happen because the A/F was too rich.... all the wires are connected properly is there a way to reset the ECU.
I just replaced the MAP snsor and 02 and i still am getting a check engine code.
What seems to be the problem my next thing to replace would prolly be the FPR...somebody help me so i dont have to keep spending money on all this bullshit

the vafc shouldnt affect the engine if it hasnt been touched. itll just show whats going on with the car untill u go in and start messing with fuel, timing, etc. put it back on. they look nice
