Spoon flywheel on turbo LS setup w/GSR trans, Good? Bad?
I have a turbo LS project I am putting together and I found a great deal on a Spoon flywheel. I got a stock bottom end with a p&p LS head with a GT28RS. Will be in the 250 whp range. What are your thoughts? I realize lightwieght flywhhels drop revs faster, I have also heard they help with quicker spool. Any good info would be appreciated.
I'm running a stock LS turbo with a GSR trans in the low 200whp range with an ACT streetlite flywheel.
Honestly, i cant give u an honest opinion on spool time since I had the flywheel prior to going turbo.
I actually wish I had the stock LS flywheel, so the RPMs wouldnt drop as fast in between shifts keeping me in boost better i suppose.

learn to shift faster man, i run a stock LS with an S1 Cable B16 trans and a 48/60 Garrett T3. i have an Exedy flywheel with a 6 puck sprung clutch. the only thing i dont like about it is th clutch chatter on initial take off. other than that, the flywheel is FAR superior to a atock flywheel. easier to control wheelspin, easier to rev match, better to drive. every car i drive WITHOUT a light flywheel feels sluggish.

i was referring to spirited driving 6/10ths not full on race mode. you telling me to shift faster is like me telling you (in reference to the chatter during takeoff) to learn how to take off better.

You must be shifting the **** out of that thing with that light flywheel and B16 trans!
