Default Fuel cutoff problems. Hits at 6300 instead of 7500?????

I was driving tonight and I encountered a problem. I went to redline in 1st, and shifted as usual. I wasnt paying close attention so i accidently hit the fuel cutoff, and since i wasnt paying atteintion i didnt look at the TACH. But into 2nd gear I go, I'm paying attention now, and my fuel cutoff hits at around 6300 rpm!?!?!? (mind you i ws going around 60 MPH according to my Speedo, and with the math done based on my gearing, my speed at 7200 rpms is 60 MPH.)

WHAT THE F.U.C.K.

My redline itself is at 7200 rpm.

My thoughts are that it is the cam sensor, speed sensor, or the tach itself, or even possibly the ECU. any thoughts.

Mind you, every time I start my car, it seems like it is choking itself. It will start, rpms will drop for an instant, then it will pick back up and run fine.

When I'm in cold idle the rpms seem correct, so im thinking that one of the sensors is F.UCKed up.

i'd go with the tach being off.......i had a tach that sometimes, it would go to 7200 rpm's and be right on......then sometimes it'd be time to shift at at 6000......it was my tach that was screwed......i just visited my local JunkYard and picked a cluster up...and it happened to not be junk.....so, overall it's an easy fix.....just gotta go get a cluster...

Probably. My speedo is all fucked up sometimes too. How much does a brand new cluster cost?

well, the main issue is im thinking all these problems might be related.

When it starts, it chokes, almost as if it hasnt sensed the right RPM, then it catches and picks back up. like my enigne is burping or something.
