Default 97 civic CX...... clutch problems after swap.

I have boiled the problem with the sound to be something in the transmission. I still have a question on the clutch (the noise was present only when i have my foot off of the clutch pedel, when i push the clutch pedel in, the noise goes away. I put a new clutch disk, pressure plate, and throw out bearing, in (note i did not replace the flywheel) now the car will not drive. It will go into gear with no problem while it is running and i can still let off the clutch pedel. it almost acts as if the presure plate is enguaged at all times. NOTE: the pedel drops to the floor and has little resistance......also i did not open the hydo clutch line i only removed the slave cylinder from the block and set it aside with the lines still connected. any opinions.

The fork that engages and disengages the clutch could have shifted.

let me find a picture
Where the clutch release cylinder attaches to the tranny, there is a rubber boot. The cylinder pushes in on the end of the fork. (beside the bleeder for the clutch)
The fork moves the throw out bearing in and out.
