Default do they use the same wire harness ?

i currently run a jdm b16 SIR II with a jdm ITR ECU OBD2 in my 97 civic . will a stock sohc d16 vtec from a 96-97 civic be the same wire harness ?
how hard would it be to swap back to a SOHC D16 ?
what parts can i use that im currently using right now ?

i was told a while back that they can use the same engine harness but im not sure.

thanks in advance .

That just depends.
If all the components on the b16 are obd2, then you shouldnt have any problems plugging a obd2 sohc back in it.

But to my understanding JDM sir2 is an obd1 engine, so there is a good chance the distributor, injectors, and alternator are all obd1.

If thats the case, you will need to switch all those plugs back to obd2 plugs.

Or just buy another obd2A harness and use that with the sohc.

Well you could still have obd1 distributor, injectors, and alternator. They can be used with the obd2 ecu.

He's either using a '96-'98 ex harness or a modified stock harness.

just spoke to the previews owner of the car and he said that he used the stock EX harness .

he actually has the original D16 ECU and injectors that came with the car when it was stock . he said he would sell them to me .

how much would be a resonable price for them ?

im swapping back because i need to get my car to pass smog .

and im also thinking of selling my coupe so i rather sell it with the d16 instead of the b16 .

i'll maybe get a ek hatch and drop the B16 in that but yeah those are the 2 main reasone's for swapping back .
