Unless if it is an automatic. However, I don't know if LS' came with autos or not so you could be right no matter what.

i dont think even the automatics have a transmission filter. If they do, i dont think its normally serviced.

They do, it isn't serviced much. Whenever the auto tranny fluid is changed the filter should be too.
