yea, i think most filters out are by k&n and rebadge.
the best i would say is the aem dry flo (made by aem not k&n) since you don't need to reoil in the future, just wash.

chances are slim.
make sure you have all the fenderlinning and plastic covers in the wheelwell and under the car. that prevents water from getting in there.
don't drive into huge puddles. regular rain driving isnt a problem, been using cai during rain season for over 3 years with no problems.

short ram intake wont go near the front fender if u would like to try that approach. i dont like this intake i have.. it scoops down and cant see the dam filter i think it became loose its whistling

i have not heard of a waterproof filter cover but you can get a bypass valve for your protection.
but i read somewhere here that the bypass ruins the points of having a cai.
there are a few that have hydrolocked their engine with cai but their are many more that haven't. im sure if you are smart about it and dont live in a flood area you are fine.
