b20 worth it???

Default b20 worth it???

i have a 99 civic si i want to know is it a better idea to leave the b16a2 in the car and just play with bolt ons and stuff or is the hp and torque gain worth it from a b20 build?

id say stick with b16 with boost.....if u wanna go with a built b20...it must be done Right by a pro unless you can do it yourself..professionally

You could swap the B20 block underneath the B16 head.

all this computer stuff freaks me out i used to be one of them v8 muscle heads then i drove my uncles civic and i was hooked so i bought a 96 DX then a 99Si. im trying to figure out what to do i want more power but i want it reliable. what are your opinions on leaving the b16 in and puttin a jackson racing supercharger on it??

id do the b20 vtec and get some st 1 cams and a nice header and it will be nice. im in the process of doing one for my friends 00 SI. my old b20vtec put down 180/138 with stock block and stock gsr head and cams

No, it's better to take the B16A2 out of the car, and then play with bolt ons and stuff.

You need to decide what 'kind' of car you'd like to have, pick your goals, and figure a budget.
I've got friends that view turboed-hondas as the ultimate-insult to Honda engineers. Some of them are willing to spend twice as much on NA builds to achieve similar numbers to stock block turbo-hondas... its wierd.

Like for example if your goal is mid-elevens reliably...
And you're an NA man, go b20/vtec and build it. If you are a turbo fan, turbo what you have... If you just want to get into the elevens regardless of how its done (and have an endless-budget) build a b20/vtec turbo.
