Default a TRANNY's role in drag race

does the tranny plays a big role when drag racing? if 2 motor has the same exact set up but both had a GSR and a b16 tranny.. who will win?

As long as traction isn't an issue, under most circumstances the shorter geared car would win because its transmission is well suited for accelerating. Just a simple analogy.

what about in a freeway match? if both cars are downshifting to 3rd at the same time who will come out on top?

How about use a transmission that is best matched for your powerband.
