Default car system in my home

has anyone put there system from their car and hooked it up in there house. i want to do this without the use of my head unit (im using my computer for the signal) so how would i turn on my amp? thanks

you could get a large 2ndary power supply for your computer, the output from ur power supply is dc (i believe). I have been toying around with doing this just for fun, but it is just cheaper to buy home stuff.

thanks. so any 12v source will work? also how and where did you ground your amp?

No, any 12v power source will not work. You need to have a 12v power supply that is capable of delivering equal to or greater than the maximum amperage draw of your amp.

You will ground the amp to the negative terminal on the power supply.

You can turn the amp on and off by wiring the remote terminal to the + side of the power supply with a switch inline.

i have a 12in sub in my room powering from my computer speakers..and lemme tell you it hits hardd.. put it in a closet and let it blow!!

putting a car stereo in your house is stupid and ghetto. It's cheaper and the end result is better if you just buy home audio equipment.
