Re: Car Audio Help
Why would it be the remote? Is the amp getting power? Check the grounds and make sure you have the power wire run from the deck harness to the amp so the amp gets power when the deck turns on.

Re: Car Audio Help
just to clarify: the amp needs 2 powers to turn on, 1 from the battery (constant power)and 1 from the stereo (only when stereo turns on) and a ground, to turn on. You didnt have the radio on while hooking up the amp did you?

You can also splice the small blue remote wire to your ignition, instead of the radio, so the subs don't come on when the key is turned to on I position, if your CD player doesn't have the option to turn accessory amplifiers off. That way you don't drain your battery when listening to music with the car off.

Amp doesn't turn on. Fuse ok. Remote wire is connected to the amp, goes to the deck, and is connected to the blue and white wire. (wire that says power control, if using amp connect here) deck turns on not amp.

Then I suspect your amp is not properly grounded. If you take the amp and hook it directly to the battery it should come on. If not our amp may be toast.

Re: Car Audio Help
Then your grounds are bad. In all the years I've installed amps that would be the only thing that would prevent one from turning on properly provided everything else is wired properly.
What are you grounding the amp to?

If you take a small piece of wire and put it on both the +battery input on the amp and the remote wire input on the amp...it should turn on...if it doesn't check your grounds, or your amp is fried. Just because it's new doesn't mean it is invincible...it can fry within seconds if hooked up wrong. There's also a possibility you rubbed a positive wire somewhere and it's grounding out.
Try jumping those two terminals on the amp.

We all learn our mistakes and grow from them. I now know how to put in my own system, and get around shitty wiring, and know what to look for in my next hatch. Ima rip the next car I buy aPart before buying lol
