The inline is fine, but the inline is only used to protect your from the high fuel pressures of the fmu. With hondata, you shouldnt have to run extremely high fuel pressures. The intank isnt a must, but its just it makes the engine bay look so much better.

i got the walbro gss317 from http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com -- it was like $95 or $100 shipped
I think with the fuel pressures you'll see with the Hondata, the GSS317 or the GSS342 will work fine. I would be concerned about using the GSS317 though with a FMU setup because of the super-high fuel pressures.
you don't need to run the high pressure pump for hte hondata or any stand alone like you would with an fmu set-up.
hondata claims some of the stock oem fuel pumps can handle close to 350whp.
but obviously no one ever tries.
