ok today i was at the drive thru at bk and i heard kinda like a barking sound and i seen a stutter in the rpms i thought it was nothing and it would just go away but it has gotten worse through the day and now it has started stalling the car out i opened the hood and it sounds like its coming from the distributor... the car will not odle for more then 2-3 minutes at a time now... anybody know what is wrong??? thanks in advance... its a 92 vx...

 

if it sounds like the dist. might be that your rotor came off track. Only thing that confuses me is "barking sound" I never heard a car bark.

 

The red death?

Pull the distributor cap off and make sure the rotor is still on. If the inside of the cap is covered with red dust, it's time for a new distributor.

Can't help until you give us more info. Did you pull the cap yet?

edit: I experienced the same thing when the bearings in my dizzy went bad, leaving red dust all over the inside of the cap. Hence the name, Red Death.

 

ok i pulled the cap and yeh there was red dust all in the inside of it... what should i do... buy a new distributor...

 

Time for a new distibutor???
