Does anyone know if this oil pan will work for a GSR motor? From what I can tell, it SHOULD, but dont know if it really will. I called moroso they said it doesnt, but the guy I talked to didnt know what a gsr was, let alone the difference between the GSR and LS motors.

Ya I saw that, but like I said I called moroso and they said it didn't. I was hoping someone had used it or knows for sure. As I dont want to buy it and go through the hassle of trying to return it.

 

i swore gsr and itr are the same.... oil pump might be the difference.

 

ALl you have to do is go to a website that sells moroso oil pans for hondas and compare the part numbers, if they match.... you get the rest.

I have a new STEEL 5 quart moroso with the kicked out sump and it is official, I prefered the steel anyways because of the sturdyness and stregnth

 

I have done that, and it says the exact same thing. Nothing about it fitting a GSR specifically and the guy at moroso said it didnt fit. So I was wondering if anyone knows for sure.

1994-1998 Acura Integra 1.8L, VTEC & Non-Vtec; Civic Si 1.6L DOHC B16A3

So I would have to say screw the moroso guy and that they are universal, but if you have a non-vtec you have to buy an extended pickup. Ask the guys in the type-r forum.

also I was wondering can you use the stock oil pan gasket with it, and are there usually any problems doing this?

Yes you can use the OEM honda oil pan gasket. I usually don't put honda bond on the as long as it's brand new.

 

I'm using the same pan on my built GSR. No problems at all, stock pick-up and gasket are fine.

Got mine from summit racing, for 120....gotta know what you are looking for though, no pic on the site, just a part#

 

GSR and TypeR oil pan are identical....i am running a Moroso Oil pan...works great...had a Tap in the front for oil return...comes standard with magnetic drain plug...this oil pan gets two from me

 

Mine has the extended sump ( 5qt. ) with the baffles and oil return and extra bung for oil temp, got a STEAL on it for $220 w/ shipping

 

im pretty sure i saw that exact one for like 190 on ebay....so steal that

I have this pan, but haven't put it on yet, seem like a quality piece.

For those of you who are already using it, does the dipstick read full when you fill it? I remember a while back there was a post about this and people were having problems with it. This is also something anyone thinking about getting this pan should probably know.

 

Funny you ask that, I changed my break-in oil the other day and dumped 5qts in it and it was about a quarter inch above the full mark, I didnt pay any attention to it......

 

Yes it works, I have one on my gsr motor.

Which price. the $190 or the $220? Mine definately was not stolen so I do not know where you are going with this....
