Default Fidanza Lightweight Flywheel, Can it be resurfaced?

I know it has a replacable friction surface but mine only has 15k on it so it's not ready to be replaced. I am replacing my transmission and will be installing a new OEM ITR clutch kit. I would like to know if i can just have the Flywheel resurfaced. Any input?

If you say the Fidanza's friction plate doesn't need to be replaced, why would it need to be resurfaced?

I went through this semi recently. Throw a straight edge across the flywheel's surface. On mine the outside was only about 1mm higher than the inside so I just scrubbed it with some 220 grit and went on with my day.

To answer your question: The friction surface should be replaced, not resurfaced. But good luck, unless you have a hook-up the disks are pretty expensive.

This "can it be" never occured to me. When helping my friend with his clutch install, he decided to buy a used fidanza flywheel. We had it resurfaced at the local machine shop and hadn't had any problems. It was $50.

Yes... It reads so in the flyer that accompanies the flywheel. It also reads that the friction plate costs about as much as the resurfacing...

And why wouldn't you go onto the website? Just curious, but wouldn't they have a FAQs section that may answer this?

I have looked on the site, all it says is that it's replaceable. It doesn't list any prices. I also e-mailed them. Still waiting for a answer.

I paid around $80 for the replacement kit. Comes with 2 new friction surfaces and new screws and nuts and instructions w/torque specs.

Where did you purchase it from. Fidanza wants $102 shipped for the replacement surface and I can buy a brand new flywheel for $159 shipped. Alsmost better to suck up the $60 and start over.

"12. WHAT SHOULD I SET MY NEW CAM GEARS TO? – We cannot tell you this. It is based on your engine and the medications you make. Your driving style also must be taken into consideration. We recommend booking time on a chassis dyno and using it as your guideline for setting your new gears. "

WTF?

Circuit Star, I looked at the FAQ's but it was about 3 a.m. Probably read it and forgot about it. Thanks for pointing it out!

Fidanza wants $102 shipped and Summit Online wants $51 plus shipping but it will take 2 weeks.

Summit is the winner!

Bought it off Ebay from a store called Ultra Rev for $65 shipped, Summit didn't have it in stock.

Whats wrong with that? Some people may be prone to extreme ideas under certain perscriptions....

Shouldn't say modifications, not medications. Weird
