Help my B18C outputs only 100bhp!!!!!
Hello, i have a big problem, because my motor startet 2 month ago to only output 100hp.
The car works fine when i drive it around the city, but i can sense that it does not have the power it used to have
. But when i take it on the freeway and go Vtec it does not accelerate any good, it almost stops before going further/higher in rpm. It is not jerking it is only stopping/slowing down the acceleration.
If i hold the throttle down i neuteral it shoots in the exhaust.
There is no cel code.
Some times it starts to jerke when i'm crusing at 2000rpm
What i have tried to do to fix the problem:
New Dizzy
New Map sensor
new oil and oil filter
new fule filter
new spark plugs
Checked the Cat.
Help me, I need help, have to get the car running for the Track days
Best Regards

Have changed the sparkplus to.
Ihave not over reved, and i do not think i have gotten any water into the motor.

Why are you still running OBD2? If none of the stuff already mentioned doesn't cure anything, you may want to check bearings...
for a month I was driving around on a spun bearing...well, it was working its way out anyway,...I starved the motor a few times of oil (DOH!!!) and then one day missed a shift and the engine shot upto about 11k...... Nothing bent but the bearing couldn't take ti anylonger...engine blew...
After the first episode of the oil starvation, the motor lost about 15-30 hp...butt dyno tells me so... Just something you should look into if nothing else helps. And go OBD1...I dun understand why you're obd2...
Side note...New engine goes into today...Ill post pix.

hvat bearings? The engine has 46000 km on it.
I'm running OBD2a because my car was obd0, All europen honda civic 1,5LSi(DPFI) is OBD0 or pre-obd.
If it is the cat, i should see if it's clogged???
Thanx for the input!

it sounds like a clogged cat to me. one of my old roomates had a clogged caat and it wouldn't even rev pass 3000 in neutral.
It's not the Cat. , i can see light in the other end, just as when i put it on the car the first time, so it is not the cat.
What can it be??
The cars idle is at 1050rpm, but it has always been that high. But recently the idle has gone down to 800rpm and then back up to 1050rpm, could it be that a sensor the is ajusting the idle speed is making the power loss at high rpm??
Thanx for any reply.

check your TPS & main O2 sensor, coz if the O2 have problem the engine light not light up some time. Also try unplug the TPS and see the engine run ok or not. When you unplug the TPS the engine light on and idle around 1500 rpm. Let try that 2 things.
I just got my car dynod and the first run it only freakin pulled a 128.9 hp and forgot the tq.
The second run after tuning pulled 149.3 @ 107 tq
Third was 152 at 109 Tq.
It was tuned on Crome
The head was port and polished with three angle valve job. Stock bumpsticks (i think this could be the problem). Arias pistons CTR profile. Stock rods.
AEM FPR, Vortech fuel rail, stock injectors, stock fuel pump.
Spoon 421 header, test pipe, stock exhaust.
I need to do a compression test on it when i get it back from the tuner.
Any other suggestions would be great.

It's a fairly new clutch. I i'm going to do a running compression test on it and check the valves tomorrow.
does the ecu read data from o2 sensor under full trottle??
Can i use TPS from a civic or do i need the itr TPS???
Because when i disconnect the TPS the ideling is stil 1050rpm.

I took the TPS of the trottlebody today and mesured it whit an Ohm meter.
I got a strait kurv from 0.3k ohm to 5.0k ohm, and 5.3k ohm to 0.4k hom on the other side. is this about right?
If this seams ok, that i think it is, what the hell is wrong with my car

Gone start crying soon
i have the same problem as you do, i change my cat, spark plugs, injectors and etc... you can think of. After diagnosing this crap for like 3 months now, the only thing i can think of happening is possibly the ecu itself. My suggestion is to borrow someone elses ecu and plug it in and take a test drive. If that solves your issue, you are all set, thats what Im trying next.
Good luck
