Default Changing Brake Pads - Quick Questions

I have a couple of quick questions about the caliper bolt - you know, the one that you have to remove at the bottom of the caliper and loosen at the top of the caliper, when changing pads. Is it a 12 mm or a 14 mm? Also, is it the same for the front as the rear?

I've changed the pads on my ITR before, and I know the bolt on the GS-R is a 12 mm and on the NSX is a 14 mm, but forgot which one the ITR is. (And it doesn't say in the service manual.) TIA...

The caliper bolts are 14mm. The caliper bracket bolts are 17mm.

On the rear if I remember correctly they are 12mm and 14mm respectively.

I like these little quizzes Ken

Yes, you would need a 14 mm wrench to change pads, and a 17 mm to change rotors and pads.

Thanks, guys. (And Chris, it seems I would need both 14 mm and 12 mm sockets, depending on whether I'm changing the front pads or the rear pads.)

And yes, I did try searching, didn't find it.

Good point I haven't changed the rears nearly as often as the fronts. (duh).

No one agrees with you

summary: fronts are 14mm and rears are 12mm, and bracket is 17mm.

chris - who does not like enjoy twisting in the rear caliper after replacing pads.

umm... are you too lazy to bring an extra socket or wrench with you when you work on your car or something?

I usually bring a set, and sometimes bring an extra of the size for the caliper bolt.

.. to the track.

I'm sure that was implied somewhere, but I'm pretty sure Takumi didn't catch it.

(Chris, who's avatar is named Takumi, and thinks that's a little funny)

Funny you should post that today, since I took Cosmo with me to Gingerman yesterday.
