just to let u know... on the drums they are called shoes... so most likely she is refering to the disc brakes... however if u are talking about drums.. shoes are a little more complicated

if its brake pads.. its easy except for the bolts, they are tight... so if u can get a breaker bar on them u should have no problem.. it takes about 20 mins per side if ur working alone

good luck

or use a clamp or a jack to push pull the ratchet/wrench to loosen the 2 bolts on the back of the caliper thats the ghetto way i dont have a breaker so whatever works

give them time and they will get stiffer and if they dont then u either still got air in the lines or you have a bad master cylinder

i didnt change the brake fluid...i just bled them since when i first put in the new pads they seemed kinda spongey still. im going to try to bleed them again. so that should be it? it kinda scares me. having to press way harder than before to actually brake.

I have noticed extra effort in breaking with my car. It's time for me to change my pads, but I am just to lazy. One good thing is that my calipers have the one bolt design. It does make it easier and faster. Why would you need lock tight? I have never used thread locking compound on my bolt's on the caliper. Should I use some or is it just overkill? Get the disc break quiet stuff, because without anti-seeze or brake quite it will make noise and make lot's of it.

the lock tight is just reassurance ive heard of many people with calipers that fell off bc the bolts came loose. ut ive only had a problem like this once b4 but it was with my shift linkage i had just put on a short shifter and the main bolt came loose and my linkage fell to the floor since then when i fixed it i used lock tight

You have to bleed each one seperatly from front to back or so I have heard. Not sure though.

i bled my two front tires...the ones that i changed. the fluid seemed kind of dirty, does that matter...does it effect the way my brakes work? i think ill give it a while for the brakes to tighten and if they dont i guess i will just bleed them again

You should flush the lines. It's like bleeding, but you keep doing it until clean fluid runs out. Also, when bleeding, are you keeping the tubing line you're using submerged in a cup with fluid in it? You can suck some air back in if you don't.

When just changing pads, you don't need to bleed the brakes.
