Default B18c1 Obd 1 question

I've finally got around to doing a swap. I have the money and I'm ready to do the buying.

The question I have is this - I have a 92si hatch. I want to put a B18c1 USDM in the car. But everywhere I look, everyone is selling JDM engines. Besides buying a wiring jumper, what are the 4 other wires I need to add? My hatch already has a vtec wire, so does that cut out one of the wires?

Also, Are there any big differences between the JDM and USDM motors besides power? I want to get the one that is less of a pain in the *** to swap between the two motors.

Any advice would be great.

if you use the si harness, the only wires you will have to add is iAB and KNock

When you say use the SI harness - you are referring to my original stock 92 si harness right? One more question, I'm not exactly familiar with a harness jumper - you use this only to read the the GSR ECU right?

Also, those who have time to write - "search" should also have time to answer my questions. You're way to picky; simply put your wasting my time, yours, others, and nothing is getting solved. Also, I did the search, but it brings up tons of obsolete topics. I didn't know how to word it exactly - so this was a better bet.

In two years, I sure have forgotten so much stuff. thank you.

if you use a 94-95 gsr ecu there is no need to get a jumper it will plug right in.

yes the original si harness

if get a usdm gsr you can use the harness that comes with it

JDM motors have a little more compression which translates into more power, you should consider emissions in your local area before you choose a JDM motor. if you decide to order a swap, I reccomend Hmotorsonline.com, IMO they're the best.

good luck

Hey guys many thanks - no one else could have said it any easier or better. Also, thanks for the advice about Hmotorsonline.com. But I was thinking about Password JDM as they offer more products to help - such as the re-manu. axles. I thought this might save me the hassle of having to deal with exchanging or purchasing a whole new set.

Hey man, I'm really happy that you mentioned that - my honda civic is not a race car, nor will it ever be a race car. I don't have a race track near my house. There isn't one more miles and miles around. And driving in a straight line doesn't work for me. I just want to build a nice car with decent mileage. ahaha . it's a civic . Even people in Japan don't drive civics anymore. But a part of me really loves civics, well only the EG and EK models.

But it is the correct part right to keep your AC?

You will need the IAB plug wiring and Knock sensor wiring, if you need them check out my site, I sell the entire wiring from plug to ECU pin $10 each.

If you're in California, better yet in the Sacramento area, check out Honda Acura Parts (H.A.P. Recycling). I just got my B18C1 there as a swap package. Apparently HMO doesnt carry USDM motors anymore.
