Default Starter kill amp rating?

Well, my fuel pump kill switch failed and started blowing fuses whenever it was connected.

So i bypassed it and all is good. Im getting ready to repair it and thought i'd add a starter kill while i'm at it!

What amp rating should I use for the starter kill switch? I already know it's 20 amps for the fuel pump, what about the starter?

starter takes more amps than just about anything else so you're probably going to only be safe with a 60 amp model. Its going to be cheaper and more reliable to run a low power switch to a relay than get a 60 amp switch.

Really? damn...

What else can I use this 25 amp switch for? Any wires I can just cut and splice this into that will effectively disable my car safely? (other than fuel pump, i already got that...)

yes, this is the way to go.

30 input from main relay
87a nothing
87 output to fuel pump
85 12 volt (fused, like 10 amp)
86 ground from your kill switch.

whenever your switch sends a ground to 86, the relay will click and send the fuel pump power signal from the main relay.
