Default Broke timing belt while driving.

I was driving in the car and all of sudden the car cut off. Pull over and try to start it back up but it wouldn't start no matter what. Try to crank it a couple of time, but it still would not start. Tow the car back home and saw that the timing belt was broken. I was wondering if the head might have some bent valve? The car was barely at around 3,000 rpm and I did not hear any knocking noise when it happen.

Ya, you most likely have some damage. Replace the belt and see if it runs, if not you're going to need some headwork most likely =/

youll have to fix it before youll hear any noises...i doubt the engine would be on long enough for you to hear anything right now.

???

If anything, he has bent valves. Throw on a timing belt, adjust the valves, and perform a compression test.

Hondas run what's called an "interference engine application". Simply, what this means is that the pistons and valves will collide if the timing is thrown off, like in the event of a broken timing belt while the vehicle is running, regardless of RPM. Your best bet would be to pull the cylinder head and inspect the valves from underneath. It would be ashamed to go through all the trouble to put the timing belt on just to have the motor go to crap. Good luck.

You can perform a leakdown with the cams pulled. Bent valves would immediately be obvious. It would be a shame to pull a perfect cylinder head and have to pay for the gaskets. Even with an interference engine, you can get lucky depending on where the cams are located at the breaking point.

I was driving around doing like 45, my car got quiet, I was like wtf? Timing belt broke. Dude at the garage said 99.9% chance with these engines it'll have bent valves. They put a new belt on and everything was mint. I guess I was that .1%.
