all b series pumps are the same, but it depends what year u use cause the lower timing covers have to be the same year as the pump cause they are slightly different thats all.

eh, not all true. all 96+(obd2) b-series oil pumps are the same.

id say get a 96+ ls pump with a 96 ls lower timing cover.

So anyway, I have read all of your replys, all good info. I'm building a B20 vtec with a motor from a 98, so you guys are all saying that the oil pump in it is fine?

he saying all b series can use the same oil pumps. if ur changing out the old one for a new one, then go with one out of a 96+ vtec motor. if ur block is 96+ and u dont need one then dont get one. like me i have a 94 ls block and got a 00 itr oil pump, water pump, t belt, and jsut notched out the lower timing cover instead of spending $30. either way works fine, and the notching out is super simple
